GA4 training for government teams

Why GA4 and why now?

Not using Google Analytics data is like flying a plane without controls – you have no idea how your website is performing.

GA4 data can help your team make the most of their time. Use it to prioritise your work, and find improvements that will have the biggest measurable impact.

Yes, GA4 can be confusing – new interface, new metrics – we get it. Our training cuts through the complexity, and explains the differences between the old Universal Analytics and GA4.

We are an approved supplier for the New Zealand government.

“It has been so helpful and has demystified GA4 more than I’d hoped!”
Quote from Judith Cahill, Content Designer about our pilot GA4 training course.

How we work with you

We provide training that’s customised for you.

To help you decide whether the training is right for you, we first send a survey to your team to find out what they need.

We’ll analyse the results, and design a custom training package for you. You can choose whether to go ahead or not at this stage.

We can work within your budget and provide you with a full proposal, or whatever is needed to meet your procurement needs.

What you get from training

This training is designed to help your team make data-driven decisions and measurable improvements.

It will help you to understand data privacy implications, and comply with data privacy rules.

By the end of this training your team will understand:

  • key changes from UA to GA4
  • privacy implications of GA4
  • where your traffic is coming from
  • how people are engaging with your content
  • popular user journeys through your site
  • user insights like devices and location
  • how to build a picture of your audience using filters.

About the training

You’ll be trained by Lana Gibson, who has worked extensively with government teams in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. She’s trained teams to use Google Analytics at:

  • GOV.UK
  • RNZ
  • Victoria University of Wellington
  • Te Rua Mahara o te Kāwanatanga Archives New Zealand.

The standard training consists of two 2.5 hour sessions, which can be held online internationally, or in your New Zealand office.

GA4 course feedback

“It blew my mind to see the potential of GA4”

Jess Malloy, Service Designer

“It just brought so much more colour to the data, not only how to find it but what it might mean.”
